In 2015 GHR conducted a study on “Women Religious in Zambia” entitled “Sowing Bountifully” and one of the areas revealed by the study report that needed immediate attention and investing in, is the issue of development of the human resource of all women religious Congregations in Zambia. As a way of strengthening Formation of sisters in Zambia, ZAS is implementing a project aiming at building the capacity of sisters who run formation houses in Zambia.
The project is aimed at developing and strengthening the formation programs for forty-five (45) member Congregations of ZAS. ZAS is an umbrella body for women religious Congregations in Zambia. This project will build the capacity of the formators of member Congregations to the association by providing quality formation and deepen their faith and witnessing of those formed as well as during vocations promotions, initial formation i.e. petulancy, novitiate, temporary profession and on-going formation. Once this is done there will be strong spiritual witness and effective service at all levels. The project is aimed at further modernizing the formation foundation materials and manuals by reviewing and updating them.
